Amazing Results!

The grocery list is one of my favourite tools given to me. I stay on track and only buy what I need. I don’t even bother browsing. Which means no more temptations in the house. I also learned the importance of measuring food. We were consuming far to much previously. Yet I was surprised to find I was satiated with the smaller amounts. I wasn’t craving things, even for our “treat” meals. I never felt deprived which is pretty amazing and makes you feel completely capable of succeeding with a lifestyle change.
One of my other favourite things this past month was the coaching calls, emails and podcasts. You seemed to know exactly what I needed to hear at the right time. They were always encouraging and gave me a push to believe in myself.
I’ve seen a definite change in myself both physically (down 17lbs as of today) and mentally. I can recognize emotions and acknowledge the hormones being released when I’m tired, and can consciously choose not to mindlessly binge. The best part of participating in this challenge was not the 11 pounds I lost, or the fact that my waist was a little smaller, or that my legs were bigger and stronger now. The best part of the challenge for me was that it allowed me to see food as a way to fuel my body. It taught me that fueling my body was another way of preforming self-love and self-care. The nutritional aspect of this challenge taught me that there are so many options to fuel your body in a healthy way. It showed me that eating healthy, does not mean eating crappy tasting food all the time. It opened my eyes to the fact that when you allow yourself to shift your eating habits in a way that is healthy, your body reacts in a way that is healthy. Before this challenge, I never realized how much your energy level, your sleep, and even your mood is affected by what you choose to eat.
I have opened my eyes to the fact that in order to live a healthy and active lifestyle you cannot pick and choice what aspects of your life you change. This challenge allowed me to see, both in the physical changes in my body and the confidence in myself, that when all the aspects of a healthy life are working together your body will thank you.
